Conference information 1st of July – 3rd July

International Ancient Warfare Conference 2014 (IAWC14).

This conference will be held from the 1st of July 2014 to the 3rd of July 2014, at the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth, and is now open for registration.

The conference is supported by the University of Wales: Trinity Saint David and Aberystwyth University.
A total of 39 papers covering many aspects of Ancient Warfare will be presented. There are five main themes to the conference: ‘Artefacts and Archaeology’, ‘Greek Warfare’, ‘Roman Warfare’ and ‘Other Ancient Warfare’ (including papers which cover several other themes e.g. both Greek and Roman Warfare), and Wargaming as an approach to studying Ancient War.

The keynote speaker is Doctor Jon Coulson who will present a paper entitled: ‘Commemorating Conflict Landscapes in the Early 21st Century’

Chairs for many sessions are still needed so please volunteer to help if you can.

Car parking at the national Library is £2 per day but the cost can be refunded against goods bought at the shop or the café.
